This confirms the second death related to the incident that occurred yesterday. In a press release, the agency stated that 'search and rescue operations continue at the site under the instructions of Head of Government of Mexico City, Clara Brugada.' It also indicated that the Mexico City Attorney General's Office (FGJCDMX) is carrying out the corresponding procedures and that support will be provided to the victims' families. On Monday afternoon, a three-story building that was in the process of controlled demolition collapsed. The building is located at the intersection of Calzada San Antonio Abad and Calle Alfredo Chavero, near the headquarters of the Subsecretariat of the Penitentiary System, in the Transito neighborhood of the Cuauhtémoc mayor's office. The Citizen Security Secretariat reported in its official channels that the event 'was an uncontrolled collapse of a structure that was already being intervened for its dismantlement.'
